Stonewall Sports Charlotte is actively seeking Sports Officers for an exciting new Summer Camp offering this summer!

Position Title: Stonewall Sports Charlotte Summer Camp Officers
Length of Term: One Season
Voting Board of Directors Position: No
Compensation: 100% Volunteer
Position Overview:
The Summer Camp League Sport Officer oversees all operations for your assigned program for the Summer Camp League – from player recruitment, scheduling, rules & policies, down to ensuring all players have a fun, safe and inclusive experience. The officer shall represent the Corporation in an official capacity overseeing the specific sport league functions within the corporation.
Responsibilities:
- Fostering a healthy – working relationship with your Summer Camp host establishment.
- Creating game scheduling and updating weekly standings.
- Setting up, tearing down and cleaning up the facility for every game day.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the rules for the respective Sport.
- Point of contact for all questions concerning the respective sport including issues arising during game play.
- Responsible for identifying, recruiting, selecting and training referees and umpires for the Sports League each season.
- Understand and promote the organization’s mission.
- Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies, and operations.
- Attend the Sports Leadership Meetings led by the City Commissioner monthly in order to represent the interests of the sport.
- Participate in fundraising activities and special events.
- Strictly adhere to confidentiality policies.
- Enhance the organization’s public image.
- Ensuring players have a fun, safe and inclusive experience
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in playing the sport (2 seasons recommended).
- Excellent program planning, organizational and leadership skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in many mediums: Email, Social Media, Phone, In Person.
- Timeliness, dependability, and self-starter ability.
- Critical thinking, Strategizing, and Decision making.

Stonewall Sports Charlotte founded in 2014, is an LGBTQ and Ally not-for-profit sports league serving over 1,600 annual players and giving back over $150,000 to the local Charlotte NC community.
